About the workshops

Whether you are a keen crafter, love stationery, are a bride to be, or would just like to learn a new skill, in the workshops you will learn the art of modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink.

All the basics are covered to get you ready to add those extra special details to your snail mail, wedding paper, home décor, greeting cards and more – the perfect crafty afternoon!

I will take you through the steps of how to get started and take you through the tricks of creating your own style.

During the workshop, which is specifically been designed for beginners, you will be guided through the steps to help build your confidence and troubleshoot any issues that you may come across.

You will also have the opportunity to try out some different inks so you can later work on your own projects, cards or invitations.

The in-person modern calligraphy workshop includes:

A personalised modern calligraphy kit, including a nib, pen holder, ink and handouts
3 hours of modern calligraphy instruction, including 1 to 1 help. The workshop starts with learning the basic strokes, before writing the alphabet. We then practice how to develop words

Class expectations

The class is suitable for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before or for someone who would like to refresh their skills. You will be taught the basics and you will be taught to practice with confidence way beyond the class.

If you have tried calligraphy before, the class is a great refresher and a chance to try some new supplies from the beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form or art!
