This artwork shows a ten-fold rosette pattern from zellige wall tiles at the Al-Attarine Madrassa, in Fez, Morocco. Safira learnt this while on a study trip to Fez in 2022. She painted this using granulating watercolour colours to create heavily textured painting. The colours were nature inspired, painted in July 2025 during a particularly thundery day.  
 
Safira has recreated this in her pencil and watercolour paint style using a straight-edge and compass. She has drawn directly on to the paper, with the pencil grid lines showing. The lines are visible showing the different stages of the drawing process.
 
Created using pencil and watercolour paints on 300gsm cold-pressed paper. Size in frame 60cm x 60cm.
 
The artwork is part of the ‘Circles’ collection created in 2025 and exhibited at StudionAme, Leicester, (August 2025) and at Kismet Gallery, London (May – June 2026).
 
The artwork comes framed in a white/grey wooden frame, framed with glass. Provided with mirror plates and D rings so you have a couple of options of how to hang it at home.
